Optical fiber patch cord is that both ends of the optical cable are equipped with connector to realize the active connection of the optical communication.
光纤跳线(又称光纤连接器)是指光缆两端都装上连接器插头，用来实现光路活动连接。
And optical fiber pigtail is that only one end of the cable is with connector.
光纤尾纤是指光缆只有一端有装上连接器插头
In a multi-mode fiber, the diameter of the center core is 50μm~65μm. And the diameter of the single-mode fiber core is 8μm to 10μm. The center core is surrounded by a glass envelope with a lower refractive index compare with the refractive of the core to keep the optical fiber in the center. The outside is a plastic jacket to protect the envelope.
在多模光纤中，芯的直径是50μm~65μm。而单模光纤芯的直径为8μm~10μm。芯外面包围着一层折射率比芯低的玻璃封套。再外面的是一层薄的塑料外套，用来保护封套。
